Business Development Lead

As VerticalApps’ Business Development Lead, you will drive growth opportunities across the federal sector to further expand VerticalApps’ customer base offering high-impact and high-value mission-oriented services for the federal government. The BD Lead will work directly with VerticalApps’ executive team and delivery leaders to continuously shape and drive the pipeline, lead capture, develop capabilities materials and meet with government buyers.
VerticalApps is seeking a seasoned BD Lead with at least seven (7) years of experience, established strategic relationships at federal agencies, capable of opening new doors, generating leads, and driving growth at new agencies. VerticalApps is seeking opportunities in RPA, AI/ML, DevSecOps, Agile software development, Data Management, and other technical capabilities. The ideal candidate will work across the B&P lifecycle of an opportunity and will be responsible for building out agency-specific Account Plans.

Maintaining current client relationships and identifying potential clients at new and existing agencies.
Meet with potential customers and engage in industry events representing VerticalApps.
Researching technologies trends and creating new opportunities to build out company pipeline.
Generating a multi-year pipeline of qualified BD opportunities and facilitating pipeline reviews.
Guide capture via researching and identifying “hot button” issues with clients for win theme development.
Assisting in the development and review of key proposal opportunities.
Maintaining a strong understanding of VerticalApps’ capabilities and offerings and innovating new ways to serve customers.
Seven (7) or more years of federal IT experience in a business development role.
Established federal business development relationships with demonstrated ability to develop new relationships.
Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business or a related field.
Knowledge and experience working in the federal IT contracting market.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Exceptional writing and verbal communication and presentation skills, and ability to express technical and nontechnical concepts clearly and concisely.
Functional understanding of key VerticalApps capabilities (RPA, DevSecOps, Data Management, Agile software development, Business Process Optimization).
Excellent organizational skills to meet goals and set priorities.

Strong organizational talents and ability to work under pressure and in new environments.
