Position Title:  Data Quality Lead

Location: Washington DC and Arlington, VA

Position Summary: 

The Data Quality Lead will lead multi-functional Agile teams through the implementation of an agency-wide Data Strategy.  The Data Quality  Lead will serve as a role model and a servant leader helping team members realize their maximum potential by removing obstacles and empowering the team to deliver.  This role will cultivate a proactive culture and encourage a holistic approach within the team.  The Project Lead will collaborate with customers and adapt as expectations change over time.

Responsibilities & Duties:  


  • Lead the implementation of data governance framework and data quality program. 
  • Lead the advancement of business intelligence within an agency to promote a data-driven culture. 
  • Deliver a network analytics pilot and to strengthen case adjudication and enhance risk identification. 
  • Lead the optimization of analyst time through the creation of unified case complexity model. 
  • Collaborate with customer to determine project scope, goals, and expectations. 
  • Serve as primary point-of-contact for customer engagement and escalation. 
  • Ensure project team is aware of goals, expectations, and priorities and are aligned effectively. 
  • Create and manage integrated project schedules and budgets. 
  • Responsible for project financial health including forecasting and performing cost-benefit analysis. 
  • Identify and manage risks and issues to mitigate negative impacts to project delivery. 
  • Create an environment of continuous improvement within the team. 
  • Develop and maintain change management, communication, and Implementation plans. 
  • Ensures compliance with customer and VerticalApps policies & procedures, safety, state and federal laws, regulations and standards. 


  • Serve as the Scrum Master for one or more Agile teams. 
  • Assist the team in achieving sprint goals by consistently reinforcing Agile principles and practices. 
  • Eliminate impediments and removes blockers by working with a wide range of stakeholders. 
  • Support Product Owner to prioritize the product backlog and ensure business value is reflected. 
  • Collaborate with the Product Owner on sprint and long-term release planning. 
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, grooming, planning, review, and retrospectives. 
  • Facilitate discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution. 
  • Build a culture of trust with stakeholders and within the agile team. 


  • Manage employees and deliver performance assessments focused on the VerticalApps core values. 
  • Manage employee development plans.  
  • Participate in business development activities including proposals. 
  • Manage subcontractor resources as necessary. 
  • Lead organizational change and the development of policies and procedures. 


  • US citizenship required. 
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher required. 
  • Previous federal government contracting experience preferred. 
  • Active DOD Secret Clearance or DHS Clearance preferred. 
  • 7+ years of practical experience leading project teams through all phases of the delivery lifecycle. 
  • Scrum Alliance certification (CSM, CSP, CSPO) or PMP preferred.

  • Outstanding analytical and problemsolving skills. 
  • High-level of flexibility, creativity, and innovation. 
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude while working under pressure.
